Living Water Christian Mission (Haiti) Year in Review
Living Water is a missions partner of Madison Church. Based in Gonaives, Haiti, and led by Salonique Adolphe (who visited our Church in 2019), Living Water operates three churches, runs two elementary schools, one traditional high school, and one high school for adults. They also operate a vocational school, a farm, a seminary, and a Health clinic. That is… a lot !
Check out their end-of-2020 update
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to you in His name!
I pray this letter finds you all doing very well both physically and spiritually can hardly describe how I miss not being able to be around my supporting friends and churches this month. In 23 years, this is only the second time this has happened, and it is due to the USA embassy still being closed since spring because of COVID 19.
This year has been a tough and unusual year. This is the very first year since Living Water has been in operation that we have not even had one visiting team from the USA incredible only had one short trip to the USA thanks to Paula Beauchamp, her Haiti team, and Connection Christian We have been facing scary challenges to the point where I have wondered whether we will be able to survive
Living Water has had several people who died suddenly, very young people, this year. It hurts The ministry has been dealing with the challenge of having enough power for the two campuses. That has been a source of trouble for our leadership. Thanks to Kenal Christian Church for providing for some more solar panels. We are progressing in the right direction, but the issue remains unsolved. On November 15 we started our service an hour late because of power issues. Our Facebook live ministry had to be discontinued because of the defection of our equipment, even though it has been a very fruitful ministry. It began the last week of March when everybody was forced to stay home due to the Coronavirus. Thousands have been blessed by it. The most recent challenge is from the teachers of the school. Twenty-three of them have attempted to boycott the opening of the new school year by not signing the new contract. I was obliged to replace them by new ones, as their second letter reminded them. When we followed through and replaced them by new ones, they took Living Water to court. This could be a long process, but we will not yield because it would be disastrous for the future of our institution. We acted in a just and legal manner, but greed and bullying were at the root of their actions
Despite all of these challenges, God has been very good to us at Living Water He has provided for the payment of the salaries of the employees. He has protected all of us from the wrath of the Covid pandemic Many people have surrendered their lives to Jesus in baptism whether through the ministry of preaching in the Churches, the radio the health clinic, or the schools. God has made it possible for all our schools, Including Highland's John and Helen Meyer Mixt Institution, to resume. It was incredible that all of the classes of Highland passed the government test and on top of that they were the top scorers of their school district. Our Facebook live ministry has served literally thousands of people around the world via worship, preaching, and Bible study
We rejoice at the progress made this year on the construction of the orphanage. God has made it possible for us to feed all the school children because of the help of organizations like International Disaster Emergency Services (Marmelade). A Child Hope International (Highland), and individuals and churches who support the feeding program (RBK) and the sponsorship program. Those individuals, families, churches, and Sunday School classes feed the kids in Gonaives and complete what is lacking for feeding Highland. Our Vocational School is doing a fantastic job training young people for the work market. They made a statement as well when all the students who took the government test before being granted the government diploma passed it with high marks. Also, with the aid of individuals, churches, and organizations like IAMM (International Assist Medical Mission) and IDES, we have been able to provide an emergency food supply for hundreds of people on multiple occasions Praise the Lord for He is good!
As a new school year has just begun. Please pray for our schools, parents, students, teachers, and staff members. We are in need for funds for the completion of the main house of the orphanage and pray at we have enough funds to face the daily challenges of providing a quality education to people, for the leadership of the mission, for God's provision to solve the power issue in our campuses, for God's provision of equipment to resume the Facebook live ministry, for the progress of the gospel in Haiti, for continuous success of the radio station, for funding of the radio station, and for victories over Satan and his agents. We need your daily prayers.
I will miss greatly not having the opportunity to be in the USA for Thanksgiving nevertheless give thanks to God daily for you. Happy Thanksgiving! Yours in Him.
