Baby Shower for Life
On Sunday Evening March 21st, Madison Church will host a "Baby Shower for Life" to pray for the unborn and their mothers, and make donations to the Pregnancy Center of Central Iowa. At this event, attendees will also have the opportunity to sign a letter to a handful of government officials detailing why we met together on this night and asking them to join us in advocating for the sanctity of life.
the Pregnancy Center of Central Iowa is a non-profit Christian ministry in Newton, IA. Their purpose is to offer support to those who may be facing unplanned pregnancies. Their objective is to speak the truth in a loving way, providing accurate information and practical help through services offered to expectant mothers free of charge. here is their website:
Optional: bring a wrapped gift from one of the following categories: Cash/check(written to "Pregnancy Center of Central Iowa"), Diapers, Baby Clothes (0-4T) or other baby / new mother supplies.
Here is a current list of needs provided by the Pregnancy Center
Diapers – Newborn, 4, 5 and 6
Wipes
Receiving blankets
Baby Bath Towels
Newborn to 3-6 month clothes & toys
Diaper Bags
Large or extra-large gift bags for baby boy and girl
Every mom gets a layette gift from us just before her baby is born. We put together a diaper bag full of all new items for mom, baby and older siblings.
Mommy gifts – body products, picture frames, etc.
Gifts for older siblings - books, puzzles, small toys, coloring etc.
Office Supplies - Copier paper
We sometimes have families that come in and have no food. We try to give them $25 or $50 (depending on family size) gift card to help. We always choose the Fareway Restricted Gift Card for this. You can’t use this card to buy alcohol or tobacco and you have to get these from the back office, not the cashiers at the front.

“I’d like to add that the Amazon registry is just for ideas. We are not necessarily asking for that specific item. If someone finds something cheaper or a different brand, we are open to anything and everything. Again, much of it there is for ideas. There are also a couple bigger ticket items that the center could use, like a new vacuum and/or cleaning supplies that aren’t necessarily fun to buy for a baby shower but needed none the less. Thanks again for supporting our ministry! Blessings to you all”
